Google Launches Revamped ‘My Business’ App for iOS and Android

Much like Facebook Pages, Google is today giving businesses a new way to reach their customers by rolling out a revamped ‘My Business’ App for iOS and Android, with new tools for viewing customer information, such as followers, reviews and messages, as well as the ability to quickly create and publish new content to their Google profile (via TechCrunch).

The revamped My Business app features a new “Customers” tab that allows the business owners to track their customers’ reviews and view and respond to their messages. Customers can now also reach the businesses easily by using a “Message” button on Google Maps or from Google Search.

Also, a new “Posts” button allows business owners to quickly add content updates to their business profile on Google.

For example, a business may want to alert customers about an upcoming sale or promo, an event or new products they have for sale.

Before, businesses had to respond to incoming messages from their device’s messaging platform. This is the first time they’ve been able to do so from within the Google My Business app. Messaging was also previously limited to the U.S., Canada, Brazil, and India, but will now be available across most countries worldwide as of this week.

The new features are now rolling out on iOS and Android via the updated Google My Business app.
