Apple ‘iPhone 8’ Event Date Set for September 12 Says Another Report

Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal reported Apple’s upcoming iPhone event was set to take place on Tuesday, September 12, and now TechCrunch says they’re hearing the same date from unnamed sources:

Multiple sources have also told TechCrunch that this is the current date Apple is aiming for. But, as always, it doesn’t announce early in case it needs to shift the date based on whether it feels it’s ready.

A previous claim of a September 12th event date was first cited by French site Mac4Ever.

Apple is expected to announce an all-new iPhone 8, new iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, a cellular Apple Watch and Apple TV with 4K.

With the upcoming Labour Day weekend coming up in the U.S. and Canada, Apple most likely will send out official invites to the press this week, to give more notice for travel plans to the event, which may take place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park, if construction can be completed on time.
