According to French site Mac4Ever, unnamed sources inform the site Apple’s iPhone 8 special event will take place on Tuesday, September 12. The apparent word on the street is that carrier sources have been informed by Apple of the event date, to prepare for the phone’s launch. Presumably a pre-order for new iPhones would take place on Friday, September 15.
As for an iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and ‘iPhone 8’ release date, logically that would point to Friday, September 22, one week after pre-orders.
If these dates are true, press may see event invites land in their inboxes as early as next week?

Last year, Apple held their iPhone 7 event on Wednesday, September 7, with pre-orders set for September 9, and a release on Friday, September 16.
Of course, things can always change, so take this rumoured iPhone 8 launch date with a grain of salt. An event is coming at some point–and so are new iPhones, so stay tuned.
Apple is also expected to announced an Apple Watch with cellular capabilities, plus possibly a new 4K Apple TV.
