Lionsgate Offers Free Streaming Movie Event on Friday Nights via YouTube

Lionsgate has launched a free movie event, offering some top flicks every Friday night on YouTube. The freebie is called “A Night at the Movies” and is a charity event to support those working in the motion picture industry affected by the COVID-19 pandemic:

A star-studded celebration of the theatrical filmgoing experience hosted by Jamie Lee Curtis and brought to you LIVE. Benefitting the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, dedicated to helping people who work in the motion picture industry and currently providing financial assistance to theater employees furloughed by the COVID-19 crisis.

Movies start every Friday at 6PM PDT/9PM EDT and are available for free to watch on YouTube, including for those living in Canada. The first flick aired yesterday, The Hunger Games, but if you missed it, three more are slated:

  • April 24: Dirty Dancing
  • May 1: La La Land
  • May 8: John Wick

“Please join us to help the theater employees furloughed by the COVID-19 crisis,” details the Lionsgate website, encouraging viewers to donate to the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation.
