New Emoji Candidates for 2019 Include Service Dog, Deaf Person and More Couples

Today, the Unicode Consortium shared some details on new emoji candidates that have been suggested for Unicode 12’s release in 2019.
New candidates include service dog, deaf people, and more mixed race couples. We can’t say for certain whether or not these emojis will actually make it into the next Unicode release in 2019, however, we do know that they are being considered.
A complete list of Unicode 12 emoji candidates can be found on Emojipedia. Apple will likely include these new emoji on their platforms in the fall of 2019 when the new versions of iOS and macOS are released.
Looking even further ahead, eight candidates have been added to the list for 2020, including ninja, military helmet, mammoth, feather, dodo, magic wand, carpentry saw, and screwdriver.
