Apple Releases (PRODUCT)RED Leather Cases for iPhone 6s/6s Plus [u]

As spotted by French site igen.fr (via MacRumors), Apple has launched an official (PRODUCT)RED version of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus leather case. The product has been photographed in an Apple retail store today.

So far, only the silicon case has been available for purchase for those wishing to support Apple’s initiative. The iPhone 6s silicone case retails for $45, and the iPhone 6s Plus version for $49 in the Canadian store. We can assume that the (PRODUCT)RED leather cases — when available in Canadian stores — will cost the same as the normal leather cases: $59 for the 6s and $65 for the 6s Plus.

(PRODUCT)RED products are part of Apple’s effort to fight for an “AIDS-free generation”. A certain percentage of the revenue from this merchandise is sent to the Global Fund to help fund AIDS programs in Africa. Since its introduction, (PRODUCT)RED has generated $70 million from Apple alone, the company states on its microsite dedicated to (PRODUCT)RED merchandise.

Update: The (PRODUCT)RED leather cases are available today in Canada.
