Apple’s latest 16-inch MacBook Pro sports an all-new scissor-switch keyboard based on the tried and tested design of iMac’s standalone Magic Keyboard and now, a report by DigiTimes is claiming that Apple is planning to launch a 13-inch MacBook Pro with scissor keyboard in the second half of 2020 (via MacRumors).

Citing industry sources, the Taiwanese publication notes that the display size will remain 13.3 inches with Wistron and Global Lighting Technologies expected to be among the suppliers of the scissor keyboards for the smaller MacBook. Based on earlier rumours, however, the possibility of a 14-inch display MacBook Pro can not be ruled out at this time.
Veteran analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also predicted in the past that Apple will ultimately transition all of its MacBook Pro and MaBook Air models to scissor-switch keyboards by next year.
In addition to an updated keyboard, the new 16-inch MacBook Pro also features the newest 8-core processors from Intel, latest AMD Radeon Pro 5000M series graphics with up to 8GB of VRAM, and a new “advanced thermal design”.
