Twitter Blue Rolling Out ‘Labs’ Early Access Features in Canada and Australia

Twitter has announced that its paid Twitter Blue subscribers will be able to access its new ‘Labs’ early access features in Canada and Australia. The first two Labs include pinned conversations on iOS and longer video uploads on iOS.

Announced on the official Twitter Blue account, the company revealed its plans to bring early access features to paid subscribers prior to a wider release. Labs is available now to Canadian and Australian subscribers with the first two Labs being tested now.

Twitter explains that pinned conversations enable users to keep their favourite DMS at the top of their screen on iOS. By swiping right on the DM, a user may pin it. Additionally, Twitter is expanding the length of video uploads on desktops. Now, users can upload and tweet videos of up to 10 minutes. This is a large expansion from the previous two-minute and 20-second cap Twitter previously had.

There’s no word on how long a Labs feature will remain a part of the premium subscription. It’s assumed that as Twitter continues to test the new features, they’ll remain locked as a Twitter Blue feature until it’s ready for a wide release.

Currently, Twitter Blue’s Labs is only available in Canada and Australia. The company notes that we’ll see “more countries coming soon.”

The Twitter Blue subscription service was first introduced in June of this year. It costs $3.49 per month and gives subscribers access to premium features like Undo Tweet, Reader Mode, and Bookmark Folders.
