Uber Launches Ride for a Cause in Toronto

Today, Uber announced that it launched “Ride for a Cause” in Toronto. The company has partnered with five Toronto-based organizations to make this possible.

For every uberX ride you take this week, the company will donate $1 to the charity of your choice. Uber will also donate an additional $5,000 to the organization that was picked the most number of times by the end of this week.

To start, open up the Uber app and enter in the promo code (all of which are listed below) associated with the charity of your choice and request a ride. To enter a promo code tap the “My Account” button on the top left of the app, tap “Promotions,” and then enter your promo code.

Here are a list of all the organizations supporting “Ride for a Cause” in Toronto along with a brief description of what each organization does:

1) True Patriot Love | Promo Code: TruePatriotLove

True Patriot Love’s vision is to honours the sacrifices of members of the Canadian Forces, veterans and their families by stepping in where government is unable to provide funding.

2) CAMH | Promo Code: CAMHTO

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, as well as one of the world’s leading research centres in the area of addiction and mental health.

3) Alpine Ontario | Promo Code: AlpineOntario

Alpine Ontario Alpin (AOA) is a Not-for-Profit Provincial Sport organization promoting the development of recreational and competitive ski racing in Ontario.

4) SickKids | Promo Code: SickKids

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is a health-care community dedicated to improving the health of children.

5) Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs | Promo Code: BoysAndGirlsTO

Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs (TKBGC) serves nutritious meals to 1,300 children and youth between the ages of 6 to 18 living in Toronto’s inner-city communities.
