Freedom Mobile recently launched a bring your own watch plan for Apple Watch users, offering 1GB of data for $10 per month.

According to documents seen by iPhone in Canada, Freedom Mobile debuted the Apple Watch plan on Friday, June 5, 2020. Starting on June 12, 2020, Freedom Mobile will start selling Apple Watch Series 5 cellular models.

Shaw’s Freedom Mobile says at launch, customers will get their first three months free, in the form of a $10/month credit, applied automatically. This pricing and promo is comparable to what incumbent wireless carriers are offering for Apple Watch plans.

Freedom Mobile says Apple Watch customers will be able to self-activate through their Watch app on iPhone, “at their convenience.” The Watch app will be able to pair and activate the Freedom Mobile promo Apple Watch 1GB plan.

To be eligible for an Apple Watch plan, customers must be on a postpaid phone plan. Those on a tablet or data stick plan are not eligible, while Digital Discount does not apply to this plan.

On June 12, Freedom Mobile corporate and dealer stores will receive stock of Apple Watch Series 5 to sell to customers. Ten corporate stores in B.C. will sell Apple Watch, along with five in Ontario, to go with ten in Alberta. As for dealer stores, at least 23 are listed in Ontario, two in B.C., and four in Alberta as noted to sell Apple Watch Series 5 on the same date. Your best bet is to phone your local store on June 12.

The Freedom Mobile network will support cellular versions of Apple Watch Series 3, 4 or 5.
