Samsung has officially confirmed its plans to shut down its Messages app in July after winding down pre-install support.

Samsung has officially announced that it will no longer pre-install its own Samsung Messages app on Galaxy devices sold in the United States.

Google Messages has just introduced seven new features to celebrate one billion monthly active users embracing the RCS standard within the app.

Google Messages now properly translates emoji reactions sent by iPhone users.

The update also introduces birthday reminders.

The upcoming feature has been spotted inside Google Messages 5.8 beta's code.
