JailbreakMe.com All iOS Device Jailbreak Released for iPhone 4/3GS/3G
Whoa. This brings back some amazing memories. For those who used the original iPhone and remember using the jailbreak website JailbreakMe.com–it’s back! I used JailbreakMe.com to jailbreak my iPhone on 1.1.1 in December of 2007 (holy that was a long time ago!).
The site has been updated by @comex to jailbreak your iPhone 4/3GS/3G on iOS 4.0/4.1 and will even work for your iPad on iOS 3.2/3.2.1. All you have to do is visit the following website within mobile Safari on your iPhone:
http://www.jailbreakme.com (seems to be slammed right now by traffic)
The following mirror seems to be working: http://www.jailbreakme.modmyi.com/
I haven’t tried this yet. Use at your own risk of course.
Some people seem to be stuck at the space wallpaper. Some have no MMS or FaceTime.
Update 1: You can now proceed normally if you’re jailbreaking with JailbreakMe.com for the first time. MMS/Facetime has been fixed. If you are suffering from broken MMS/FaceTime, launch Cydia and download the updates. It’ll fix it right away.
Update 2: Stuck at the purple screen? Go to Settings–General–Reset–Reset Network Settings…then try again. Go to http://www.jailbreakme.modmyi.com/ , DONE. Just worked great on my iPhone 4.
Keep up with all the updates in this thread in the iPhoneinCanada.ca Forums!

It works!!
Just need the unlock now…
i lost MMS and Facetime and i cannot update the carrier thing for roger 7.2
With iPad sharing now in my Bell plan, what's the reason to jailbreak?
Ah, nostalgia… I guess I had better buy an iPhone pretty quick if I want to jailbreak.
GREAT!!
Great now I need to get an iphone 4 this was all i was waiting for… where is the stock at in GVR!!
wow that was fast and easy, hope no problems…
Didn't work for me. I slid the thing across and it just left me with a picture of space.
Now safari is crippled and my folders only open some of the time. I'm currently restoring my iPhone 4.
Doesn't let you update carrier settings after jailbreak
Can't seem to get it to work on a iPod Touch 2G on 3.1.3.
me to on fido…
Hmm… it should have asked you to sync first, to install 4.0 or 4.0.1, then try the Jailbreak.
Is this really necessary? I'm still at Rogers 5.0.
Go to the site and read the FAQ.
Physically turn your phone off, wait about 30sec, and turn it on again.
Is Carrier Rogers 7.2 required for MMS and Facetime?
Free apps, more freedom for customization, apps you can't normally get on the AppStore, programs, tweaks/utilities and a bunch of other stuff as well.
D/oh! Ignore that.
Don't forget it's also a pretty good way to get a paperweight.
It's ironic that they call it “safe” when the very intention of jailbreaking is to remove the software safeguards. I also wish they wouldn't call it “legal” when Cydia has an app that lets you pirate software (or was this removed?).
No, Cydia does not have anything like that and never has. The app your talking about is Installous, and it is on Hackulo's private Repo. Cydia is not affiliated with them in anyway. Saurik does not promote piracy.
same… way to take forever to release the JB because you were 'working out the bugs' but fail to fix this
FaceTime and MMS gone for many, wait for an explanation and proper fix, in fact wait at least 24 for people to report all the bugs
Ah. I'm still going to avoid jailbreaking my shiny new iPhone 4. I've yet to learn of any software compelling enough to make me take the risk.
Yes, 7.2 is needed for data…heres hoping for a quick fix!
Well, jailbreaking isn't meant for everyone, and one shouldn't jailbreak unless they are aware of what they are getting into. There are benefits and pitfalls.
Stop talking until you actually know what you are talking about Mike.
You can't break hardware with a software hack. Mike go back to Apple HQ and shut up
I am going to wait until there are updates to remove the bugs. I just did it and it all seemed fine and then I plugged into iTunes and it constantly asked me to update my carrier settings, which I did. It said it was successfully updated, but it asks me to update again and again. Facetime and MMS were there, but they are now gone. Restored to factory and will wait until glitches are fixed.
There is no risk in jailbreaking.
sounds like a SCAM
the main breakers even said that the jailbreaks were ready bc of issues with face time
Jailbroke my new i4 . Worked really well. But after words MMS and FaceTime are gone
Rogers i4 on 4.0.1 Carrier Rogers 7.2
Sorry Mike, long reply, but I've already written it..
I was compelled to jailbreak for various reasons across all versions of iOS.. copy and paste before it was officially implented. Lockscreen information display (calendar, messages, etc.). More control over notifications. Multitasking support (prior to iOS 4 – I'm happy with Apples implementation). Jailbreaking is useful for certain things. Less so as more features are officially implemented, but still useful for filling the gaps.
I just finished jailbreaking my phone (took 1 minute!). Found a fix for the MMS/Facetime bug (always a risk of breaking something when JB, but solutions tend to be found quickly). Immediately installed Lockscreen and SBSettings. Five-Column Springboard. Bosspaper (which I removed – doesn't work for me.. I miss wallpaper rotation). And that's it at the moment. Do I desperately need lockscreen info or 5 columns? No, I don't. And there's always a risk of causing issues. For example.. I *had* to have multitasking on my previous 3G, and the springboard crashed on a regular basis. Well, the iPhone 3G wasn't meant for multitasking. The hardware isn't ideal for it; the OS wasn't designed for it. But it was a workable tradeoff of stability for the ability to run certain apps in the background. Some people just like to customize and tweak. There's always a subset of gadget owners who will do so. Some people modify the engines of their car for minor performance improvements. Hopefully, most people accept and assume the risks associated in jailbreaking if they choose to do so.
And I have to agree, there's little left for me, in incentives, to jailbreak for. There may come a time where I deem it completely unnecessary to do so. Maybe a different situation for others.
what about unlocking it?
Of course it works, awesome job Comex.
For Mailwhore Unlock for 3GS can be done with Ultrasnow. For IP4 there isn't one yet.
iphone rulezzzz
i must say, all you people complaning truly are douche bags.. as if you bitch and cry about work that these guys are doing FOR FREE.. yes, people donate, but they don’t have to, and they still do the work.
I jailbroke my iPhone 3gs over 3g in about 3 minutes, and everything is working perfect… however, if something didn’t working, I wouldn’t curse the guys who created this service for me, I would say “well damn, i’m an idiot, and I shouldn’t have done itâ€..
grow up people, seriously
You wanna suck my what?
Hey Does anyone know when apple store will have their stocks up again? Especially in Pacific Centre? and does apple store still have those crazy line up like the launch day? or its just like ordinary business day (by now)?
Carrier Settings back to 7.0 which means no tethering. Needed to reinstall firmware. Make a backup with iTunes before you run this.
My phone hangs on the purply space screen and nothing seems to be happening….
works fine for me. and all you have to do is install one thing from cydia to get it to 7.2 again. its not rocket science. learn to read and research instead of having to be babied through everything, moron.
That will absolutely not happen. I have been jailbreaking my devices since the very first jailbreak was released on the iPhone 2G and iPod touch 1G. And I have never run in to any problems when jailbreaking or after the jailbreak. Please don't spread false information because you are paranoid or know nothing about jailbreaking. Its not only for cracked apps and piracy, just don't download installous and app sync. Cydia has tons and tons of useful tweaks, programs and customization features to utilize, I would highly recommend jailbreaking your iPod/iPhone to get the best out of it. If you don't want to then don't do it, just don't spread false accusations about something you obviously know nothing about.
He said you can go and shove your iPhone up your ass and go get a blackberry then!
Thx for that info bud!
Nobody is twisting your arm to do it, Mikey! If you are morally opposed to doing it then delete the bookmark to this site and enjoy your locked and Apple-controlled iphone. Otherwise, shit the f***-up!
i wonder how long until the servers are back up/aren't as clogged. as it stands now i cant get on that page lol
Has anyone jailbroken the demo units at the stores yet?
Oh God no. Blackberries are step waaaaay back in time and reverse in technology.
Lol that would be funny
what about ipod touch MC's or Ipod's in general does it work on them?
you need to reset the network settings under IPHONE SETTINGS and visit this URL instead: http://www.jailbreakme.modmyi.com
