During the iPhone 7 keynote, gaming received a large portion of the spotlight, and the recent hit Pokémon Go was one of them. The ultra-popular app is coming to the Apple Watch, Niantic Labs announced today upon taking the stage at today’s media event.
Pokémon Go players equipped with an Apple Watch will be able to see how far they need to walk to hatch an egg and the required experience to reach the next level alongside fitness information. The Watch app will also inform players when a Pokémon appears or when a Pokéstop is nearby without the need to take out the iPhone.
Pokémon Go has been download over 500 million times since its summer launch, and people have walked more than 4.6 billion kilometres while playing this highly addictive game.
The Pokémon Go Apple Watch app will be available before the end of the year.
