BC Liquor Locator App Updated + Giveaway!

Share:

BC Liquor Locator, developed by Matt Vague Designs, is an app that helps users locate the nearest BC Liquor Store to them. The app uses the current location of the iPhone to locate all of the nearby BC Liquor stores. Once located, the app organizes the stores by proximity.

When the app was originally released, it did not feature support for private liquor stores. Instead, the app was designed specifically for BCL stores. With the 1.2 update, the app has now been optimized to support private liquor stores in BC.

As a matter of fact, the app now lists 203 BC Liquor Stores and 578 Private Liquor store locations across British Columbia, all with their individual up-to-date store hours, addresses, phone numbers and directions (via Google Maps). Stop and think for a second just how much work that must have been. Well done Mr. Vague.

Along with private store support, the new update also delivered retina support and a Store Map tab that gives users a map view of nearby liquor stores.

Overall, the app provides a clean layout and allows users to quickly and easily find their local or region-wide liquor store. If you spend any amount of time searching on liquor store websites, BC Liquor Locator is easily worth its asking price.

BC Liquor Locator is available in the App Store for $0.99.

  • Beej Gratis

I would really likw to get this app so I can make a mad dash on the way home and pick up some drinks for all the Canucks game coming up.

  • John

This is an interesting app. I know that there are Manu apps out there for coffee location, gas location an now liquor location. Nice! It would be good if google listings had the same forethought, then we could just go to google and type liquor into google maps, then see all the liquor stores relevant to out position. Then that could also be prevalent to any commercial goods really. How’s that for meaningful?!

  • Deborah

This app would be great for me. I don’t have a car so getting around on foot can be difficult. This app will help me find a store when I’m on my way.

  • LongPig

    I like drinking.

They should combo this with the cab locator app released a while ago.

This should make the mad dash to get to a party with a bottle of wine easier.

Ok so this is my kind of app. With the amount of beer I drink I would most likely use this app on a regular base. I don’t think app would be one to add to my ever growing collection of useless apps. Plus on top of that I’ll review it here. Email me that code please.

This is a great when you are going out and need something on the way to you destination

  • Hank

This app will help identify where I should live–at the densest liquor store areas.

  • cheeky

This app would help to point out the BCLS’s so you don’t have to end up paying more at a private store.

  • TJ

Great info from iPhone in Canada as usual!

  • Matt

BC, sweet. I’m planning to go there in the summer.

  • Mikef2007

This app would be so handy. Right now I am going to different people’s places to watch Canuck playoff games and on a couple of occasions I missed the puck drop because I was driving around trying to find a liquor store in an unfamiliar neighborhood especially on a Sunday afternoon. D’oh. This would have saved me time and frustration.

Boozehound has had public and private BC liquor stores for 2 years now. And they have the rest of Canada as well, with location, hours, directions, etc. Smart interface too.

Ok. As promised I offer my two cents on this app. It does what it is advertized to do plus. Not only does it tell you about BC government liquor stores it also includes non government stores as well. Over all it does what it says it does so this app gets my thumbs up.

And a shout out to iphoneincanada.ca. Keep holding it up.

Hey Brodie, glad you liked my app! I hope it comes in handy next time you need to pick up a 6 pack.

I’d love to hear any more feedback you have about my app at feedback@bcliquorlocator.com, and if are so inclined, a nice review in App Store never hurts.

    Party on,

    – Matt

    Matt,

Thanks for the comment. Due to apples new rules I can not redeem a promo code and rate the app. I tried. I would give your app a 5 star rating for doing what it is advertised to do plus a little polish. The color coded open/closed function is creative. Some of the coments on the app store are unfounded. The comment about not finding private stores must come from someone who most likely does not need this app in the first place. Anyway thanks for the app. I would be happy to test out and honestly and fairly give my opinion on any future apps. Good work.

  • Matt Vague

Thanks John! Google maps on iPhone reallly needs store hours, I agree. In fact that’s why I built this app in the first place. Hope you’re enjoying my app!

  • John

Ya, I have Boozehound too. It’s nice.
