Just a couple days ago, MacRumors spotted a handful of growing threads on Apple Support Communities started by fresh Retina MacBook Pro owners complaining about keyboard and trackpad issues. Since then, Apple has acknowledged the issue and said that it is working to solve the problem.

Apple introduced the new 13-inch and 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro computers alongside the iPad Air on October 22. A couple days after the laptops went on sale, some users began complaining about sudden freezes of the computer’s trackpad and keyboard. Apparently, the only solution was a force reset using the Power button. Another growing thread was started by users having issues installing Windows 8 and 8.1.

Apple has acknowledged the issue and, in a knowledge base page spotted by CNET, the company said that a fix is coming.

Apple is aware of rare circumstances where the built-in keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad may become unresponsive on 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display (Late 2013) computers and is working on an update to resolve this behavior.

Meanwhile, it recommends to all users experiencing an unresponsive keyboard or multi-touch trackpad to reset them by closing the computer’s display for about one minute and then re-opening it.
