Alleged Force Touch Code Found in iOS Hints ‘iPhone 6s’ to Gain Technology

Developer Hamza Sood is well-known for being able to dive deep into existing iOS beta code to find hints of what features could possibly be coming next.

According to his most recent discovery this afternoon, Sood tweeted “Some force touch code in iOS” and explained Apple has tested keyboard trackpad gestures on the iPhone 6s, activated by the rumoured adoption of Force Touch technology.

Examples of Sood’s previous track record include his discovery of slow-motion for the iPhone 5s camera, while more recently he found code suggesting upcoming front-facing cameras will support 1080p, 240fps slow motion and more. Last week he was also able to share how he enabled custom watch faces for Apple Watch by hacking watch OS 2.

Back in March, the Wall Street Journal reported upcoming iPhones would support Force Touch technology.

Apple is expected to unveil its next iPhone plus a new Apple TV at a special event rumoured to take place on September 9, with many now suspecting it will take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, which seats a maximum capacity of 7,000.
