You Can Now Jailbreak iOS 16.4.1 with Palera1n 2.0.0 Beta 6
Codenamed Bakepale, the latest v2.0.0 beta 6 update to jailbreak tool Palera1n has just been released, which fully supports iOS 16.4 - iOS 16.4.1 jailbreak.
Cydia Store for iPhone Launches Today
For those with jailbroken iPhones, Cydia is the place where you can download 3rd party applications that don’t make it into the App Store. Such applications like QIK, PDAnet, Cycorder, Snapture, Winterboard, Clippy, and more.
Most applications are free in Cydia, but some can be purchased via PayPal. Well, that process for getting paid apps is going to get a bit easier with the launch of the Cydia Store, which was announced yesterday by Jay Freeman (aka saurik) on Twitter.
What’s the rationale behind the store and how can it benefit us? Well, for starters developers that want to create apps outside of Apple’s guidelines can release them in the Cydia Store and get rewarded for their efforts. Here is what Jay had to say about the Cydia Store on his Twitter timeline:
Some people would say that the Cydia Store would eventually get rid of all the free apps we’ve gotten used to so far. My argument to that is if someone creates a killer app, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be rewarded for their efforts. Free apps will always exist because some people enjoy making them for everyone to use.
Nevertheless, the announcement of the Cydia Store should be very interesting once it’s out. For those with jailbroken iPhones, what 3rd party apps have you purchased via Cydia? It would be interesting to see. Let me know in the comments!

Free stuff like winterboard won´t turn into comercial software. Like in the appstore, free stuff is a big part of the eco-system.
I personally bough Swirlly MMS and Intelliscreen from Cydia…and its money very well spent

Given that there already are lots of paid apps on cydia, I wouldn’t expect anything majorr to change except a more reliable, centralized and consistant payment channel.

I don’t mind paying for Apps on Cydia, I already paid for iRealSMS. If the application is good, then it deserves reward. I agree with the developers on this one, Cydia wasn’t just meant for free applications, it was a way for developers to get their applications onto the iPhone when Apple refuses them.
Does anyone know if there has been full disclosure already about how much Jay Freeman (cydia) will benefit financially from this move? If cydia, like apple app store, receive a percentage of the sales, that is not a problem for me, but I would like to know.
As long as Cydia continues to have free apps/games, Im happy! Cydia always has some cool crap being released. Yes it was a good way for developers to get there name out there, plus app/game. But Apple just has to many restrictions on the app store!
Personally, I don’t mind paying a few bucks for apps that I use constantly and are well written and supported. Having said that, I do prefer ‘trial’ periods or try-before-you-buy apps instead of to having to buy it outright and find that I don’t use or like the program.
