Apple Drops MacBook Air & MacBook Pro Prices; Canada Dollar For The Win
Phew, what an intense morning. First Apple updated features and pricing on the iMac, the MacBook, and the Mac Mini. Then Apple updated their mouse to the new Magic Mouse. And finally, Apple updated their Remote. But there is one more thing and it is great news for Canadians.
Under likely suspension since the Canadian Dollar is on the rise, Apple has made the following price adjustments across their MacBook line up:

What great news for Canada! It seems that “Apple Tax” that Microsoft was crying about earlier is slowly disappearing. It is going to be a very Merry Christmas for Apple this year!

Very nice of Apple. Cheaper please! 😛
That new “Magic Mouse” looks awesome. Want it now!!
Yeah, nice to see prices coming down. Too bad it's AFTER I have purchased all the Apple stuff I need. :/
This is really great news. If they did this couple of months ago, I might have bought my MacBook Pro here, instead of picking one up from Oregon. In any case, I still ended up saving as I got the student discount with the free iPod touch… beat that 🙂
They may be a little cheaper, but PCs with the same speed, calibur, etc are still much less expensive. Apple still has a long way to go.
Yeah that is true, but Apple is not trying to dominate the low end segment
of the computer market–they never will. I will never use Windows ever
again!
This is good. I'm seriously considering buying come Christmas
Do it. These price drops are awesome as Apple never goes on sale. Use
an education discount for more savings too.
Even the higher end I think they're still expensive. And frankly as long as they still use OS X they won't be dominating any computer marketing segment; they'll get the niches but they won't see any big gains. Like it or not, Windows still holds 90%+ of the OS market and I don't think that will change for a very long time.
As I said.. . a long way to go.
Not sure where you're getting your prices from but I just checked the Canadian Apple website and the rices are not what you posted..
Oh rly?

Are you sure you are reading my post correctly?
Yes your post is correct, my friend showed me prices on his computer and he listed the educational prices as he is a university student.
Ya sure…if you want to deal with “viruses” for the duration of that cheaper brand….AND…nothing beats Apple!!!! Do your research before making a pretty uneducated comment!!!!
