Apple Working On Mac OS X 10.7?
In a report at MacRumors, evidence has been found that may indicate that Apple is already hard at work at the next iteration of OS X, 10.7. This news comes as OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard was only just released at the end of August 2009.
The evidence came from an entry posted in a database of changes to the open source “launchd” framework. The new entry cites the text string “11A47”, which is  reference to a Mac OS X build number.
Similar to iPod and iPhone build numbers, Apple makes use of these numbering schemes to identifying many of its products. More recently, the Mac OS X 10.6.1 update had a build number of 10B504 and the 10.6.2 update was 10C540.
Looking at the number scheme, “11A47” may refer to an early version of Mac OS X 10.7, indicating both a new operating system and that Apple has already been working on numerous builds of 10.7 for some time, as indicated by the “47”.
