Tethered redsn0w Jailbreaks Can Run Greenpois0n Over It
Are you on a tethered jailbreak via redsn0w? Want to get the latest Greenpois0n jailbreak? It’s easy. Just run Greenpois0n over it, according to @MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team:
Yes, tethered 4.2.1 redsn0w JBers can just run #greeenpois0n over it for untether (restore only if you have problem) about 13 hours ago via web
(The reason that works is tethered RS doesn’t touch boot sequence at all, but GP does. They stay out of each others way)
Also, if you’re having issues with the Loader not installing Cydia after jailbreaking via Greenpois0n, you can use redsn0w to install Cydia:
For those having trouble getting Cydia via the GP Loader, just let redsn0w install it (don’t choose the Monte option)Â about 14 hours ago
(The order doesn’t matter: run GP after redsn0w, or run redsn0w after GP)

Most people who downloaded the original greenpois0n untethered jailbreak had problems with the installation file getting stuck. They have released a new fixed version today (Feb 4th), which you can download here:

I had issues with the Loader on both of the iPhones in my household. So I ran Greenp0ison then RedSnow. it worked like a charm!
Hey, I’m new to JBing. I just JBroke my iTouch 4 few days ago with redsn0w tethered. Now when I run Greenpois0on over it, will there be any signs of redsn0w? Because I read some threads about Greenpois0n being better in battery life, most importantly. So again, will it somehow wipe out the redns0w leaving just GP on? thx
I’ll wait a couple weeks for a new release if there’ll be one. Made a mess of my iPhone trying to run GP on Redsn0w. It died. No way to restore with Tiny Umbrella either. SHSHs stored and everything to no avail. Got it back by restoring with iTunes and a fresh 4.2.1

Run greenpois0n you should be fine. Or, if you’re worried restore to fresh 4.2.1 and then run GP.

I was running RedSn0w 0.9.6 rc8 & think I just upgraded to Greenpois0n. I never saw the jailbreak software display “Jailbreak Complete”. The device reset and loaded. I have tried to reboot the device several time with no problems. I did read an error message while jailbreaking which read “greenpois0n no successful successful firmware download after 60000 ms!!”. Any idea what this means? Is there anyway to check to see if Greenpois0n was installed? Should I see a GP logo?
