[Update] Official Steve Jobs Biography Availability Fast Tracked to November 21st

Update: Fortune contacted Isaacson, and got some more details about the book, including an image of both the front, side, and back covers:

“The cover,” writes Isaacson in private e-mail, “is the Albert Watson portrait taken forFortune in 2009. The back is a Norman Seeff portrait of him in the lotus position holding the original Macintosh, which ran in Rolling Stone in January 1984. The title font is Helvetica. It will look as you see it, with no words on the back cover.”

As for why the book was fast tracked? It wasn’t related to the health status of Steve Jobs:

“It’s actually not related to any decline,” writes Isaacson. “I turned most of the book in this past June. It’s now all done and edited. The March 2012 date (or whatever date it was) was never a deeply-considered pubdate. Like the original cover design, it came about because the publisher wanted to put something in the database last spring.”

 

The official Steve Jobs biography will become available on November 21st, and its front cover image has also been revealed. Written by Walter Isaacson, this biography had its title revised from ‘iSteve: The Book of Jobs’ to just ‘Steve Jobs’. The former publication date was slated for March 6, 2012 but it appears that timeline has been fast tracked to November of this year, as noted by AllThingsD. In that same report, Kara Swisher once again confidently notes ‘for certain’ the iPhone 5 will be announced before it in October.

This launch will definitely be ready for Christmas sales. Anyone going to line up overnight to buy a copy, like Harry Potter fans?
