Apple Releases iOS 6.1 Beta 2 OTA Update to Developers [Update]
Apple has released iOS 6.1 beta 2 to developers, build 10B5105c, an over-the-air update. Also made available is a new beta version of Apple TV software and Xcode 4.6 Developer Preview 2. The iPhone 5 update comes in at roughly 98MB.
iOS 6.1 beta 1 was released to developers on November 1st. Stay tuned to see what’s new in beta 2.

I’ve read the 6.1 offers much improved battery life for the iPhone 5 on LTE. Can anyone confirm?
I hate to say it but that’s always rumoured. Unless apple has gotten new improved “drivers” from Qualcomm, or uses a new technique like keeping LTE off when phone is locked, I’m not sure that’s coming. However awesome that could be.
