Microsoft 365 Support to End on Older Macs and iPhones Starting in July
Microsoft is ending core support of Microsoft 365, Office 2019, and Office 2021 on older Macs and iPhones, starting July 13th.
Apple CEO Tim Cook to Attend President Obama’s State of the Union Address
The Mercury News reports Apple CEO Tim Cook will be seated with First Lady Michelle Obama during the President’s State of the Union address, set to take place on Tuesday:
Apple CEO Tim Cook will sit in the First Lady’s box, a White House official said. He will be joined by military families, those championing immigration reform and those whose lives have been touched by gun violence
Last year, President Obama honoured the late Steve Jobs while his wife Laurene Powell sat in the First Lady’s box. Obama had this to say about Jobs:
“An economy built to last is one where we encourage the talent and ingenuity of every person in this country. That means women should earn equal pay for equal work. It means we should support everyone who’s willing to work and every risk-taker and entrepreneur who aspires to become the next Steve Jobs.”
Tomorrow, Tim Cook will also give the keynote speech at Goldman Sachs which was revised to take place first thing in the morning as opposed to the afternoon.

Yah…with manufacturing of all devices in China, he’s creating lots of jobs…but not in the USA.
In fairness he is bringing a lot of assembly jobs back to the US next year.
Not entirely correct. He is bringing back assembly for ONE of the Mac models. It hasn’t been announced which model yet. There are no plans to bring iDevice assembly back to the US anytime soon.
It’s the iMac assembly he’s bringing back and even though its only one model they don’t have to … But they are so you have to give the man credit for that. I’m sure it’s going to cost them more on US soil.

The Mac line is moving some production back to the USA. It’s a small start but it won’t compete with a Foxconn of course.
The BEST jobs at Apple are still in the US (Apple corporate and retail). Nothing wrong with tech companies that come from nothing and end up employing thousands… Of course it would be great if everything could be manufactured in the US as well, but the fact is China is just much cheaper (and possibly better) at it. Also, think of all the small companies that have enjoyed success due to the fact that these big tech companies exist. The number of jobs that rely on Apple alone could be well over 100k in the US (my estimate, I don’t have any sources).
