Pebble Announces iOS 7 Notifications, SDK 2.0, Yelp, GoPro, Foursquare Apps
Pebble has made two major announcements this morning for its smart watch platform: iOS 7 notifications and its SDK 2.0 beta.
iOS 7 Notifications
A new Pebble iOS app update will be made available early next week to enable users to receive any notifications enabled in Notification Center. So that means any notification will now appear on your watch beyond texts and phone calls.

Pebble SDK 2.0 Beta

Also new today is the Pebble SDK 2.0 beta, which opens up four new APIs for developers:
- PebbleKit Javascript
- Accelerometer
- Data Logging
- Persistent Storage
The Pebble team says:
These new APIs allow developers to make Pebble apps that interface directly with the web (real-time weather, transit info, location check-in), access to the accelerometer (health/fitness monitoring and gesture-based remote control), log data when disconnected from the phone (health/fitness tracking), and store info on the watch (high scores, time zones, preferences).
New Partner Apps
Pebble has also announced four new partner apps coming soon from: GoPro, Yelp, iControl and Foursquare:

The finger-dance is killing me! I’m more excited for persistent notifications than anything else, though there are some SWEET Android/Pebble apps!
Yeah, it has taken some time but I can’t wait for this. Notifications in iOS 7 has been a gong show setting up back and forth.
I’ve installed the 2.0 SDK… and still dancing. : /
Wow that is some major announcements! I am loving my Pebble more and more each day!
Looking forward to control my GoPro with my Pebble…now if they can increase the font size for my old and tired eyes..that would be awesome 🙂
