Apple Working on 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhones, Analyst Claims
Apple is readying two huge iPhone models this year: one with a 4.7-inch display, during the company’s annual WWDC event in June, followed by another, 5.7-inch model later in 2014 – at least according to Chinese analyst Sun Changxu of International Electronic Business (via Unwired View).
Sun Changxu predicted the Moto X, so this year he has been paying attention to iPhone rumours and claims the iPhone 6 will enter production as early as next month, with full-scale manufacturing starting in May.
An interesting highlight of Sun Changxu’s report is that the 4.7-inch iPhone will sport the same 1136 × 640 resolution display as the currently available model, which contradicts DisplayMate’s earlier forecast for new display sizes.
The surprise element, however, is the iPhone with a 5.7-inch display, scheduled for later this year, which will sport a higher-resolution, quasi being the high-end model. Oh, and both will be announced at the same time at WWDC 2014 in June.
Sun Changxu’s speculation comes at a time when several reports surfaced – cited by Bloomberg – claiming that Chinese customers are after a bigger-display smartphone, because that device is their smartphone, tablet, computer, and television set all rolled into one. Interesting, right?
