Telus Refurbs: 16GB iPhone 5s for $550 and iPhone 5c for $450 Outright
Telus Certified Pre-Owned iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c models are now available, specifically 16GB models. These phones are essentially lightly-used iPhones that customers returned and then were ‘refurbished’ for sale.
These models are available on contract with 2-year SharePlus Plans or purchased outright:
- 16GB iPhone 5s: $129 on 2 year term; $550 outright
- 16GB iPhone 5c: $0 on 2 year term; $450 outright

These iPhones come with a 6 month warranty (other smartphones are 12 months) and 15 day return policy. Some Telus pre-owned iPhones in the past still had AppleCare warranties attached to specific devices, so you could luck out with an extra warranty.
The outright pricing is cheaper than buying an unlocked unit from Apple, but they are not unlocked (which costs $35 with Telus and does require the phone to be hooked up for service).
So you could have an unlocked refreshed iPhone 5s for $585, versus $719 from Apple ($134 off) if you don’t care about having brand new. The iPhone 5c would cost $485 unlocked from Telus vs $599 new from Apple ($114 in savings).
Earlier we calculated whether it would be cheaper to buy an unlocked iPhone or get a subsidized 2-year term. It’s now up to you to decide what will work best for you. Let us know if you’re going to jump on this!

Has anyone been able to choose the no term pricing?
Yes the no-term pricing is available for everyone.
I saw the page says no term 550$ but when I logged in the option to buy no term was not there. I am asking if people have seem the link to buy no term.
Ahhh, gotcha.
I just got off the phone with Telus customer care and they confirmed it will not sell the iPhone 5s with no term pricing.
They say the no term is just there so you would have an idea how much your device balance would be when you do the upgrade
That sounds incorrect? Previously they have allowed outright purchases. It’s a refurb and online only.
I know. I checked. The other 4 model of phones can be bought no term. I think I will call again. I may just buy off kijiji a 5s with apple care for 600$.
Really? What was their reasoning?
I just got off the phone with Telus Customer Care confirmed they will not sell the iPhone 5s refurbish with no turn pricing
