Apple Notifying WWDC 2014 Ticket Lottery Result Winners

Last week Apple announced WWDC 2014 would take place June 2-6, but when it came to tickets, they announced it would be a random lottery selection instead of first come, first serve in the past.

Apple has started sending out emails to lucky recipients who have been chosen roughly 20 minutes ago, such as iPhoneinCanada.ca reader @Skydivin_Q:

Recipients have until 5PM PDT on April 14 to purchase a ticket.

Last year, WWDC tickets sold out online in less than two minutes, at a price of $1,599 USD per ticket. For developers, the chance to learn and receive feedback from 1,000 Apple engineers on hand is worth the price of admission.

Earlier today, Apple updated its iOS adoption rate numbers to reveal 87 percent of devices are now running iOS 7. Apple is widely expected to share a preview of iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 at WWDC.
