Apple may be filing trademarks for upcoming products, including Healthbook, HealthKit, and iResearch, according to a report from MacRumors.
The trademark filings are not connected to Apple and the company is not mentioned in the filings. However, the three names in the filings suggest that the trademarks will be for upcoming health-related products from Apple.
The filings were made through one of Apple’s favoured trademark filing location in Trinidad and Tobago, which also suggests that the trademarks are coming from the Cupertino-based company.
Apple is expected to announce a smartwatch, with reports suggesting a release in the second half of the year. The rumoured health and fitness-focused iWatch will reportedly integrate with iOS 8 through a Healthbook application, which will be used to store and sync your data.
Judging by the name, HealthKit could be a tool for developers to integrate their apps and devices with the rumoured Healthbook app.
On Monday, Apple is set to take the stage at WWDC for its opening keynote, where we expect to see iOS 8 and Mac OS X 10.10. According to various reports, it is unlikely that we will see any health related products, like an iWatch, at WWDC.
