MacRumors reports, Apple is nearing the release of iOS 7.1.2 which looks to bring plenty of bug fixes. The update looks to address a lock screen vulnerability, an email encryption issue, and other minor enhancements and bug fixes.
Sources familiar with the update say that Apple has already distributed iOS 7.1.2 to carrier partners for testing. If this is true, the update should be released to the public within the next two weeks.
Apple is indeed nearing a public release of iOS 7.1.2 and has begun seeding carrier partners with a version of it, termed build 11D257. Apple has apparently asked carriers to sign off on the update by Friday, June 27, indicating that a public release could occur the following week.
The update will reportedly patch an email encryption issue that was found in April, which prevents attachments from being saved with proper protection. Apple will reportedly fix a lock screen vulnerability which could allow access to a select number of apps even if your device has a passcode.
The report also suggests that iOS 7.1.2 will include iBeacon enhancements, however no details were provided. Apple may also issue a fix for iMessage. Currently iMessage makes it difficult to switch from an iPhone to another device and still receive all your messages.
Apple has recently seeded iOS 8 beta 2 to developers. The update brings some subtle user interface changes, predictive keyboard to the iPad, along with many more enhancements and bug fixes.
