Dropbox has announced its paid Pro service will now cost $9.99 per month for 1 terabyte of storage (previously it was only 100GB). Also new are the following sharing control features:
Passwords for shared links create an additional layer of security so only people with the password can access your link.
Expirations for shared links safeguard your sensitive files by letting you set how long your links stay up.
View-only permissions for shared folders let you pick whether recipients can edit or just view files within your shared folder.
Another feature is remote wipe for Dropbox files from a lost or stolen device, which is pretty cool.
The price drop falls in line with Google ($10/month for 1TB), while Microsoft has a OneDrive business plan for $2.50/month for 1TB. Again, the price drop puts pressure on Apple’s new iCloud pricing ($0.99/month for 20GB; $3.99/month for 200GB; 1TB price is TBA), however the 1TB tier hasn’t had its pricing revealed yet.
