iOS 8.0.1 Needs a Fix ASAP: Disables Cellular Signals, Touch ID for iPhone 6 Users
Apple just released iOS 8.0.1 at the top of the hour, and it has arrived with numerous bugs. After installing the update, we no longer have a cellular connection, plus Touch ID has been disabled on our iPhone 6 Plus. All that is showing is either “Searching…” or “No Signal”.
From what we’re hearing from you, the Touch ID bug seems to be affecting iPhone 6 models only, as most iPhone 5s users are unaffected. Older iPhone users still have signals.
@iphoneincanada @justinalepins does not apply to the 5S.

Even if you try to re-enroll Touch ID, it won’t work on the iPhone 6 Plus in our case:

We have tried multiple reboots, re-inserting the SIM card and resetting network settings but to no avail. You can be sure Apple is aware of the issue and we expect them to push an iOS 8.0.2 update shortly, because having no cell service after an update is a major problem.
Do not install iOS 8.0.1 at this point if you’re an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus user.

It seems to be OTA updates. I restored my iPhone 6Plus with iTunes and I get the cellular signal and Touch ID. I am in the process of restoring from iCloud to see if everything is good. Will keep you updated
Keep up the good work…
Everything works great with the iTunes upgrade. Back online including Touch ID. Go ahead guys. Its safe with iTunes
I didn’t believe, and I have no cellular. That’s an epic fail.
True!
Glad I pay attention to this site and didn’t install it. I bet the Androids who jumped on the 6 Plus are happy campers now…
When the live stream of their most important product was messed up right from the start, it seems like it’s carrying a negative energy throughout. High sale numbers were to be expected so no surprises there, but all these problems carrying forward is powering up the hate train.
The “hate train” is self-sustaining. All it needs, or looks for, is an excuse for its existence and operation.
You are at liberty to feed the fire if you so wish…
Which all validates my point that haters are gonna hate.
8.0.1 has been pulled from the dev page entirely
8.0.1 worked on my iPhone 5 on Bell.
I wonder if resetting the network settings will help those affected by the cellular bug?
FIX:
You don’t need to do a full restore to fix the issue. Download the ISPW and choose Option + Check For Update (OS X) or Shift + Check For Update (Windows).
iTunes then re-installs 8.0.1 again without needing to restore data.

iPhone 5 no longer showing the update, says 8.0 is latest version
Looks like they pulled it. I went to see if it was still available and it’s gone now. If you installed and it F’d up your phone, restore via iTunes and apparently you should be ok.
Apple has now pulled the 8.0.1 from iTunes as well. I tried to do the update on iTunes, to make sure the OTA would not resume, after my forced hardware reboot that stopped the OTA update, but iTunes now only finds 8.0, whereas 20 minutes ago it was offering to update to 8.0.1
Apple has pulled the update.
Way to go Apple, now everyone can wait till they’re at home on wifi to fix the update. Glad I didn’t apply this “patch”
