MTS Launches 4G LTE Network in Pilot Mound

MTS has announced the launch of its 4G LTE network in Pilot Mount, part of ongoing expansions which have reached 14 rural communities in Manitoba, bringing download speeds of up to 150Mbps.

“Our customers in Pilot Mound now have access to MTS’s fastest wireless network,” said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd. “The expansion of this service to another rural community reaffirms our commitment to bringing 4G LTE to more Manitobans.”

The regional carrier says over 850,000 Manitobans now have access to the company’s 4G LTE network, first launched in 2012. There are plans to cover over 90 percent of the population with 4G LTE over the next five years.

Coverage maps haven’t been updated yet, but expect them to happen soon.

MTS launched iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sales back on September 19.
