Rogers and Shaw’s Shomi Now Available to All Canadians

Rogers today has announced shomi is now available for all Canadians, as the service has exited its beta stage. The company noted today in a Rogers Redboard post “Canadians were clear in stating that they wanted an entertainment streaming service that is modern, customizable, and easily accessible,” which they are now “delivering on that request.”

Shomi is available on iOS , Android, the web, Xbox 360, Apple TV, Chromecast and on set top boxes for Rogers and Shaw TV subscribers for $8.99 per month and allows six user profiles.

Back in May, Rogers said it would open up shomi nationwide this summer, after the CRTC decided exclusive streaming video content by broadcasters can only be offered if available to all Canadians with Internet—and without a cable subscription.

Are you currently subscribed to shomi or have plans to? What do you think of the library so far?

Too little, too late. Netflix owns this market, and the other big
power players. Amazon, Netflix, Showtime, HBO, Sling TV and Hulu are all
evolved and matured Rogers and Bell are just getting in to the game.
There days of ripping off Canadian are over. Crave TV and shomi will
never ever survive outside of their cable and A lot Canadians now how to
Geoblocking and VPNing. By 2016 when they release crave VPN & DNS
will much be mush more stronger than now Netflix will bigger it’s all
about brand Rogers and Bell streaming Service are not brand. They just a
knock off of four streaming service combine (Amazon prime, Netflix,
HBO, Showtime)

All 7 SEASONS of Sons of Anarchy is available on NETFLIX U.S just turn on VPN there you go on the spot. Much of all have VPN by now. don’t need Shomi for that.
