TELUS iPhone 6 Now $170 Off on Contract; More iPhone 5s Offers

If you’ve been waiting to upgrade to an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, TELUS has a sale right now which takes $170 off each device, for those signing two-year contracts.

Here are the prices after the discount:

  • iPhone 6 – 64GB: $230
  • iPhone 6 – 128GB: $360
  • iPhone 6 Plus – 16GB: $230
  • iPhone 6 Plus – 64GB: Not showing as available
  • iPhone 6 Plus – 128GB: $490

If you’re going to sign a two-year contract, you will be required to get a minimum $80 per month plan for a subsidy.

iPhone 5s Now Available on Lower Monthly Plans on Virgin, Fido

Following Koodo’s recent move, Virgin and Fido also lowered the required minimum monthly plans for the ‘old’ iPhone 5s. Koodo’s iPhone 5s offer just so happens to end today ($0 on contract with a $45/month plan with 500MB data).

For Fido customers, you can now get the phone with a minimum $55/month plan that comes with 300 anytime Canada-wide minutes and 300MB of data.

For Virgin customers, the company is advertising the iPhone 5s as available on a Gold Plan agreement for $0, with a minimum $50/month plan, which includes 200 minutes and a paltry 100MB of data (or 350 minutes and pay-per-use data).

Despite now having a lower minimum monthly plan to acquire an iPhone 5s for $0 on contract, it brings the possibility of overages into play, since it’s so easy nowadays to go over your data bucket on LTE networks.

With Apple set to announce a new ‘iPhone 5se’ in March, it may be best to hold off for now, to wait and see what other offers may pop up to clear out existing stock.

I got more data at that price in 2009. I know subsidies are reduced. But 2009. Seriously.
