Here’s the Space Black Milanese Loop with Space Grey Apple Watch Sport

On top of announcing the iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro yesterday, Apple also introduce new Apple Watch bands, including a lustworthy Space Black Milanese Loop, which retails for $279 CAD ($199 USD), available now.

If you’ve been wondering what this new band looks like on the popular aluminum Space Grey Apple Watch Sport, Lory Gil from iMore purchased one for her own watch and shared images of the combo on Twitter, after purchasing the band from the Apple Store at 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino.

Lory says the combo “matches pretty good,” from the front, but from the bottom angle it’s “not an exact match,” since the band’s gloss black connector does contrast with the matte Space Grey aluminum, however, the “difference is subtle,” she explains.

Apple yesterday also dropped the starting price of Apple Watch Sport models by $50 in Canada, now available for $399/$469 CAD for 38mm/42mm models, respectively. These were discounts we were already seeing from Best Buy ahead of the event. With the Loonie no longer close to par with the US dollar, we only got $50 off, while our American friends got $100 off entry prices.

Let us know if you’re going to be buying one of these Space Black Milanese Loops!

279 for a watch band!!! wow!!! the more I see those prices… the more I like my Pebble Time watch that has a standard band attachement… so I can easily replace the band without worrying about compatibility.

I got a black milanese loop on Amazon from JETech I think it was that looks just as good for 30 bucks, I have had it a few months now and it still looks brand new. I love Apple but yeah not paying nearly 300 bucks for a watch band.

I was going to ask about that same band. I saw that on Amazon as well and was wondering if anyone if anyone could comment on the quality.

I’m not paying $200-300 for a watchstrap… but I’d happily settle for paying $30 on “good enough”.

Is it comfortable? Is the magnet strong enough?

I love it, I love that you have an infinite number of possibilities for setting the tightness of the strap, something I found annoying about the default sport strap. I have noticed that the strap will loosen a bit during the day, but I have a very physically demanding job so that may have something to do with it. It doesn’t ever loosen on me on the weekends.

In my opinion, it is way better than “good enough”.

That’s very good to hear, especially for a guy with tiny wrists like me. $30 is WAY more reasonable.

Would it kill Apple to make a Space Grey Milanese loop? Like most people who like to pick each new Apple Watch release, I can only justify that expense at Sports Watch prices. I also happen like the space grey colour.
