Instapaper Premium Features Now Available Free for All Users
Only three months have passed since Instapaper was acquired by Pinterest, but the new owner has already made a major decision that impacts all its users and may see some new users on board: Starting today, Instapaper has dropped its premium offering, and now all the features are available to everyone.
This means you will now have access to full-text search for all articles, unlimited notes and speed reading (aka reading articles up to three times faster), text-to-speech playlist on mobile, “send to Kindle” feature and more for free.
Users who have been paying for access to the above features will get prorated refunds for their current subscription and, of course, the Instapaper bill will disappear. Until today, the aforementioned features meant a monthly bill of $3 or yearly $30.
Instapaper also promises to deliver an ad-free Web experience, which is good for reading.
As pointed out by VentureBeat, Instapaper competed against Pocket, Flipboard, Evernote and Readability. The service is available on iOS, Android and Kindle devices. If you haven’t done it yet, download Instapaper for iOS for free!
