Super Mario Runs has catapulted to the top of Apple’s App Store charts and smashed download records. The app managed to rack up nearly 10 million downloads per day since its release.

According to a new report from TechCrunch, Nintendo plans to release two to three mobile games per year starting in 2017. The news comes from an interview with Nintendo’s president Tatsumi Kimishima. The company’s roadmap is definitely indicative of the success of Super Mario Run.

Popular titles including Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing have been rumoured to be some of the first games to see a mobile release. Kimishima shared no information regarding future mobile platform exclusivity, however, it is possible that Super Mario Run won’t be the only mobile game released by Nintendo to launch first on iOS.

The company says they are actively working on an Android version of Super Mario Run, but no release timeframe has been announced yet. Super Mario Run for iOS is available as a free download from the App Store and requires any device running iOS 8.0 or later.
