It’s Official: Amazon Prime Video Apple TV App Coming Later This Year
Last month, Recode got the scoop an Amazon Prime Video app was set to launch for Apple TV later this summer. Today, Apple made it official with CEO Tim Cook announcing the app was coming on-stage at WWDC.

Amazon Prime Video is the company’s Netflix-like offering, which expanded to include Canada back in December, a perk of Prime membership. Apple TV users in Canada should see this app once it debuts this year, most likely when iOS 11 is released.

Why with iOS 11? Apple TV has its own tvOS. Amazon, not Apple, has to write its own app and upload it for the App Store. It could be as soon as next week for all we know.
