According to a new report from TechCrunch, Facebook is rolling out a new “Trending News” section to the Facebook app on iOS and Android devices.
The new feature allows users to easily access current and trending news stories. Trending News aggregates news stories from a wide variety of sources and ranks them based on the number of publications that have shared that same story.
The Trending News section can be accessed from the “Explore” tab. From there, news stories are displayed in a list, and tapping on that story will load it from the specific source indicated under the title.
Facebook is available as a free download from the App Store. The app requires any device running iOS 8.0 or later and contains no in-app purchases.
