Fast-Charge Feature on iPhone 8, iPhone X Takes 30 Minutes to Reach 50%

Apple introduced the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X at a dedicated media event yesterday, and it seems that all three models support the new “fast-charge” feature, which means that each of these iPhones can be charged to 50% battery life in just 30 minutes, MacRumors is reporting. It must however be noted that the feature is not available using accessories that are sold alongside the two devices.

To take advantage of the new fast-charging feature on the upcoming iPhones, you need to plug them into Apple’s 29W, 61W, or 87W USB-C Power Adapters, which are currently being sold alongside its USB-C MacBook and MacBook Pro models.

Furthermore, a USB-C to Lightning Cable is also required to go along with the USB-C Power Adapter. So if you get the least expensive USB-C Power Adapter, which is the 29W version for the MacBook, and  a 1 meter USB-C to Lightning Cable, it would cost somewhere around the CAD $90 mark.

Will you be getting a USB-C power adapter / cable along with your new iPhone?
