Freedom Mobile has announced their VoLTE rollout continues, with the latest smartphone to gain support being Samsung Galaxy A8 devices.

Voice over LTE (VoLTE) allows for simultaneous voice and data transmission over LTE, instead of normally seeing calls route over slower 3G networks. With VoLTE, calls connect faster and have higher quality, including support for wide band audio.
Earlier this month, Freedom Mobile launched VoLTE for LG G6 and G7 smartphones, then rolled out additional support for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ (S9 and S9+ support coming soon, says Freedom).
Today brings the Galaxy A8 into the fold for VoLTE, but most people are probably waiting for Apple iPhone support, which should eventually come soon (possibly timed with the upcoming iPhone XS announcement?).
