iPhone XS Charging Fix Released in iOS 12.1 Beta 2
Last month, some iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max users were complaining their devices would not charge properly when plugged in via the device’s Lightning port.
Well, that bug was short-lived, because with today’s iOS 12.1 beta 2 developer release, Apple fixed the issue, according to Rene Ritchie on Twitter.
Today’s iOS 12.1 beta includes a fix for the charging issue some people were experiencing with iPhone and iPad.
With it, no more delay or uncertainty about charging. You’ll be back to just plugging it in and getting power.
(Pretty much what I said in my video yesterday.)

The problem resulted in some iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPad users having trouble charging their devices when their screen was off. Devices would only start charging if the screen was waked. For some users, this resulted in waking up with a device not charged before work.
Apple today also announced iOS 12.1 beta 2 includes over 70 new emojis, set to be included when the firmware is released to the public.
