Apple Announces the Winners of its ‘Shot on iPhone’ Photo Contest

Apple today announced the winning photographers of its “Shot on iPhone” contest that it ran at the end of January. The winning images will be featured on Apple billboards, in Apple retail, and as part of online Shot on iPhone features.

The 10 winners came Singapore, Germany, Belarus, Israel and the US, while the winning photos were shot on the iPhone 7iPhone 8 PlusiPhone XiPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max, “showcasing the quality of cameras across the line,” the company said in a blog post.

“iPhone photographers around the world shared their best photos for the Shot on iPhone Challenge, capturing remarkable moments with the world’s most popular camera,” reads the post. “The 10 selected winners will be featured on billboards in select cities, in Apple retail stores and online. The winning shots came from a range of models, from iPhone XS Max to iPhone 7, showcasing the quality of cameras across the line.”



Ten photos were selected by the panel of judges, which included the former White House photographer Pete Souza, iPhone photographer Austin Mann, and Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller. The judges chose from photos with the #ShotOniPhone tag on Twitter, Instagram, Weibo and email.

According to Apple’s press release, the hand-picked photos capture colourful city scenery, curious animals, creative reflections, the beauty of the ordinary and more.
