Shaw Price Increases on Internet, TV and Phone are Coming January 1, 2020

If you’re a Shaw residential customer, prices are increasing on January 1, 2020, for select Internet, TV and phone plans.
Shaw’s website explains why rates are going up, by saying, “We increase our rates to ensure we can continue providing the same exceptional connectivity and content experience while meeting the evolving needs of our customers as programming costs rise and Internet usage continues to grow.”
For customers on 2-year ValuePlans for Internet or Internet and TV, Shaw says those with the price guarantee will not see an increase on base TV and Internet services. However, “any Theme Packs or add-ons may be subject to an increase.”
Shaw doesn’t detail what the price increases will be, only to mention, “If the price of the service(s) you subscribed to have changed, the new prices have been or will be specified within a notification included in your monthly invoice.”
According to the company, customers started to get notifications of an impending price increase back on November 1, 2019, detailed on the company’s website.
