Leaked ‘iPhone SE 2’ Renders Show iPhone 8-Like Design, Single Rear Camera, Touch ID

High-quality leaked renders of the upcoming Apple iPhone SE 2/iPhone 9 have surfaced, giving us our first glimpse at the upcoming budget iPhone.

Courtesy of tipster @OnLeaks in collaboration with iGeeksBlog, the images and 360-degree video renders suggest the iPhone SE 2 will be an iPhone 8 with 2020 specs. That likely means the iPhone SE 2 will have a more dated design featuring thicker bezels on the front — a far cry from the edge-to-edge screens of the current iPhone lineup.

The iPhone SE 2 will roughly measure 138.5 x 67.4 x 7.8mm. The dimensions of the device are similar to the iPhone 8, though it is slightly thicker as the iPhone 8 had a 7.43mm thick waistline.

The renders confirm that the iPhone SE 2 will come with a 4.7-inch display, up from the 4-inch Retina display found on the iPhone SE. Additionally, the device will only feature a single camera at the back. Like other iPhones in Apple’s lineup, the iPhone SE 2 will miss out on a headphone jack which the original iPhone SE packed.

The smartphone will be powered by the A13 Bionic chip — the same that powers the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. This chip is backed by 3GB of LPDDR4X memory, capable of competing with other flagship smartphones today. It’s also likely to come with a Touch ID fingerprint reader and up to 128GB internal storage options.

The iPhone SE 2 is said to come in a frosted glass finish, much like the iPhone 11 Pro. Moreover, the iPhone SE 2 appears to have a stainless steel frame, similar to the iPhone X.
