How to Move from Wunderlist to Microsoft To Do Before May 6th Sync Deadline

Wunderlist microsoft to do

Wunderlist is set to shut down on May 6, 2020. Before the shutdown, the company is encouraging users to transfer their lists over to Microsoft To Do. Microsoft acquired Wunderlist back in June 2015 and nearly five years later, the to-do list app is finally meeting its maker.

An email sent out today by Wunderlist reminded its users to switch over before the May 6, 2020 deadline.

“We wanted to remind you that you only have a few days left to transfer your lists from Wunderlist to Microsoft To Do,” reads the email.

While your lists will no longer sync on May 6, Microsoft says users have until June 30, 2020 to transfer over their tasks and lists over to To Do.

How to Move from Wunderlist to Microsoft To Do

Here are three simple steps to switch over from Wunderlist:

  1. Download the Microsoft To Do app.
  2. Sign in with your Microsoft account. If you don’t have one, you can create one using an existing email address (like Gmail).
  3. Click on the pop-up in Microsoft To Do, or head to Settings and select Import. It’ll direct you to the Wunderlist importer.

According to Microsoft, it has incorporated some ‘favourite features’ from Wunderlist over to To Do, based on user feedback, including folders, subtasks, file attachments, list sharing, dark mode and more.

“We’re dedicated to ensuring that Microsoft To Do is the most useful tool to help you organize your life,” concluded the Microsoft To Do team (formerly the Wunderlist team).
