Telus 5G Network Expands to 10 More Communities in British Columbia

Telus announced this week its 5G network has expanded in British Columbia, now available in the following 10 communities:

  • Vernon
  • Pemberton
  • Whistler
  • Grand Forks
  • Fort St. John
  • Chetwynd
  • Cranbrook
  • Tumbler Ridge
  • Kitimat
  • Prince Rupert

The company says by the end of 2021, over 70% of the Canadian population will have access to its 5G network, which is capable of up to 1.7 Gbps download speeds.

“Now more than ever, TELUS is committed to keeping Canadians connected, productive and healthy,” said Darren Entwistle, President and CEO, in a statement.

Telus says these latest 5G network expansion plans are part of its $13 billion investment in B.C. through 2024.

Earlier this week, Telus expanded its 5G network on Vancouver Island in B.C.
