iPad Pro Featuring Wireless Charging Expected to Launch in 2022, Alongside iPad Air 5 and iPad 10

A new report is claiming that Apple plans to launch three new iPad models in 2022. Expected next year is a new iPad Pro featuring wireless charging as well as an updated iPad Air and base iPad.

According to Mark Gurman’s latest PowerOn newsletter from Bloomberg, seen in full by MacRumors, Apple is planning on a strong year for its lineup of iPad devices. Gurman reportedly states that the base iPad will maintain its moderate updates, as seen in previous years in order to keep the device within its entry-level status. Currently, there’s no indication on what features next year’s model will include.

Similarly, the iPad Air 5 is expected next year but there’s no clear indication of what the new model will feature. It may not be out of the question that Apple will see this as an opportunity to invest in featuring the A15 Bionic chip within the iPad Air 5, as it does with the latest iPad mini. 5G connectivity is also a sure bet as well as Center Stage for video calls. Previously, it was believed that the next iPad Air would feature an OLED screen from Samsung. However, plans for that were apparently cancelled.

Finally, Gurman claims that 2022’s iPad Pro will feature wireless charging for the very first time. This long-requested feature, which is currently used by iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods, may soon come to the premium iPad model. Gurman has previously stated that wireless charging would be a premium feature on the new device. It’s also said that the iPad Pro will launch with a new design. However, there have not been any details on what the revitalized design will include.
