Montreal-based Shakepay has started to roll out its invites for its Shakepay Card, which is a prepaid Visa that offers up to 4% bitcoin cash back for Canadians.
According to Shakepay, you’ll get 2% bitcoin cash back to your bitcoin balance when you spend up to $5,000 on purchases. When you invite a friend (max 2) to get a Shakepay card, you’ll get a 1% bonus each, for a total of 4% bitcoin cash back.
Shakepay says the bitcoin cash back reward is valid for up to $5,000 in purchases or until January 3, 2022, whichever comes first. The holiday promo starts today, December 8, 2021, to January 3, 2022.
The Shakepay app can have funds deposited instantly via Interac e-Transfer. When you spend these funds via the Shakepay Card, you get free bitcoin.

Only existing cardholders and customers on the Shakepay waitlist are eligible to invite other Shakepay customers to sign up for the card. The waitlist closed on December 7, 2021.
The Shakepay card supports both Apple Pay and Google Pay. You can add the card to the Wallet app on both your iPhone and Apple Watch.
