Tesla has finally started rolling out its Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta in Canada with the release of the 2022.4.5.4 software update — reports Tesla North.
The 2022.4.5.4 software update was first spotted on a Tesla Model 3 Long Range in Ontario by third-party service @TeslaFi. Canadian Tesla owner Steven Elliott (@stevenelliott) later shared screenshots of the “Limited Early Access Full Self-Driving Beta” screen and the “Request Full Self-Driving Beta” button:

Hours before the update started rolling out, Tesla added a ‘Safety Score’ Support page for Canada. Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Friday also said he was hopeful FSD beta would hit Canada sometime this weekend.
Full Self-Driving is a $10,600 CAD add-on for Autopilot and is required to test this beta. It’s unclear if Tesla will roll out FSD monthly subscriptions in Canada, like the USA.
In the U.S., Tesla uses the Safety Score system to ensure that Tesla owners participating in the FSD beta meet certain driving safety metrics and to prioritize the rollout of FSD updates to the most cautious drivers. Safety Scores will likely serve the same purposes in Canada.
The system measures the following five factors and assigns drivers a Safety Score out of 100:

If an FSD beta tester’s Safety Score does not meet the eligibility threshold, they will be temporarily booted from the test program.
Canada has been on the waitlist for Tesla’s FSD beta since late 2020. Back in December 2020, Musk said that the beta would cross the border into the Great White North “very soon.”
The release was delayed yet again in April of last year, but the FSD beta made its way to a very limited number of Canadian Tesla owners for closed testing in October. According to Musk, Tesla had around 60 cars testing FSD beta internally in Canada as of Friday.
Last month, Musk said that Tesla would start “cautiously” rolling out the Full Self-Driving beta to Canada sometime in the next “2 to 4 weeks.” It looks like Musk’s timeline on this promise, at least for once, wasn’t too far off.
